July Stamp Club Cards

My stamp club is meeting Saturday, and I am so excited about our projects. We are making our first Christmas card of the season and a fun, fishy card for summer.  For directions on how to make the cards, click on the links on the right for the July Stamp Club: Embossed Evergreen and July Stamp Club: Fishy Friends.

52 Christmas Card Throw Down Challenge #7

A fellow stamper suggested I check out this blog, and I am so glad I did! This week's challenge is a color challenge to use Black, White and a splash of Blue. Here is what I came up with.  I hope you can see the Shimmer Mist. It really makes it look like winter!

I used all Stampin' Up materials to make the card. The card base is Pool Party embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots. The rest of the card is Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The stamp sets are Lovely as a Tree and Wandering Words. I used Staz On Jet Black ink and spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Mist.

Paper Players Wordsmith Challenge

This week's challenge on The Paper Players blog is Wordsmith. I decided to continue with my Christmas in July theme, and make mine a Christmas card. Last year, I fell in love with The Sounding Joy stamp set (Stampin' Up), so that is what I used. I used the Joy sentiment to make a watermark on the Not Quite Navy card base, and then the Joy to the World star for the main message. As always, I love the look when something is embossed with Stampin' Up Pewter Embossing Powder.

Paper Players July Color Challenge

This week's challenge on Paper Players was to make a card using Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Lucky Limeade. All of these are fun, summer colors! Here is what I came up with.

I am so enjoying my July off because I get time to make my cards. Happy Stampin'!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #42

I love playing along with the layout sketches. It challenges me to think of color combinations and what materials I will use. I really wanted to use one of our new In Colors, Primrose Petals. I love the Just Believe stamp set, and paired well with the Comfort Cafe designer paper.

Dynamic Duos Challenge #10

I am new to Dynamic Duos, and I got excited when I saw the color challenge because I like Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive together so much. I decided to make one of my favorite cards, a flip card, using the two colors. The pictures below show the outside of the card and the inside. If you have not already tried using the framelits (Stampin' Up) to make a flip, you must. They are so great because you can layer them and use the coordinating stamp sets.

Here is what I used to make the card in case you want to try it.  All materials are Stampin' Up.

PP102 Christmas in July

Since the theme is Christmas in July, I thought it was appropriate to make my card a door, welcoming the Christmas season. I love the Welcome Christmas stamp set, and it was perfect for my door Christmas card. I stamped the wreath and cut it out, and then decided to emboss it with Cherry Cobbler for the berries. Love it!  Thanks Paper Players team for the Christmas inspiration.

Father's Day Share

I have been trying to come up with a card idea for my dad for over a week now, and I finally decided to use some of the new Stampin' Up products to make it. I made this card with the Four Seasons stamp set and the Delightful Dozen stamp set, along with the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper. The card stock is River Rock, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla, and I used Cajun Craze and Soft Suede classic ink to stamp. I think the colors are masculine enough to be Father's Day, and I love the bird and leaves on the stamp. Hope Dad likes it, too.

Bright Birthday Wishes

I made this fun card for my mom's birthday. She and I really enjoy trying new things in our card making, so I decided to make this fun card in her favorite polka dots. The paper is Summer Smooch DSP from the new Stampin' Up catalog. I used the baker's twine to tie the bow on the button. I saw the Paper Players challenge, and I immediately thought about how much I like polka dots. They are so bright and fun!

Freshly Made Card Entry

Here is the card I made as my entry for Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #34. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Summer Smooch DSP from Stampin' Up! I had such fun putting this together because I really like using the Brights. I actually used this card as a Stamp club project in April, and remade it for this challenge.

Sunday Share May 13, 2012

It has been such a peaceful Mother's Day weekend for me. I have enjoyed my boys' company, gotten time to relax, and most importantly, make some new cards! Here are some ideas! The top card was my attempt at a bouquet of flowers. I used the Five Petal Flower punch #119880, the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder #120975, Pear Pizzaz, Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral card stock, Everyday Enchantment DSP, and Soft Suede and Pear Pizzaz Classic Ink pads. The second card was made with the Summer Smooch DSP #125409, the Blossom Punch # 125603, 1" circle punch #119868, 3/4" circle punch #119873, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, and Tempting Turquoise card stock, the Something to Celebrate clear stamp set, and the Bright Blossoms stamp set # 125497. I wasn't sure about the colors together, but I like them because they are fun! Hope you are having a happy Sunday!

Antique Embossing for Mother's Day

I made this card to try a new technique and because I am trying to think of something original for my mom's Mother's Day card. I have  been hearing about inking the embossing folder and then embossing the paper to make card, and so I tried it. I used the Pool Party card stock and inked the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with Soft Suede (one of my all time favorite colors). Then I used the Apothecary stamp set with the Labels Framelits to make a design. I colored the flowers with Stampin' Write Markers (Pool Party, Blushing Bride, and Pear Pizzaz) and added the basic pearls for flower centers. I chose the Loving Thoughts stamp set for the sentiment, and finished it off with Smooch Spritz and Soft Suede satin ribbon. After I finished it, I decided to enter it in the Paper Players Challenge #94.

Other Spring Cards

Thought you might enjoy seeing other cards I have been making. I get inspired when I look at cards on the Stampin' Connection and other demonstrators' sites. Thanks everyone for sharing! You are all so creative. The top card is made from Summer Smooch, a new DSP coming soon from Stampin' Up. Isn't it pretty?

Celebrating Spring With a Card

I am so happy that Spring is almost here. I have been enjoying the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and the Blossom Punch so much. What a fun stamp set! When I saw The Paper Players Challenge this week, I decided to use my new favorite stamp set to make the card. I have made several variations, but the one for the challenge is made from Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red card stock with Brights buttons and layered blossoms. Hope you like it as much as I do!
