Be My Valentine

It's been a long time since I have posted. I am so excited to get back to it, though. I follow The Paper Players blog weekly, and so I thought it fitting that the first card I post in 2016 would be in response to their weekly challenge. Here is the information for PP278, and below that you will see my response.

I just love the Bloomin' Love Stamp bundle from Stampin' Up, so that it what I used to make my card for PP278. It gave me a chance to try my new Sizzix Die Brush, and it's amazing at getting all of the little pieces out when you cut a very detailed die out. I made the card from Stampin' Up products, with the exception of the rhinestones. Don't you just love the glimmer paper? It is just so sparkly!
Thanks for the Valentine challenge http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/

July Stamp Club Cards

My stamp club is meeting Saturday, and I am so excited about our projects. We are making our first Christmas card of the season and a fun, fishy card for summer.  For directions on how to make the cards, click on the links on the right for the July Stamp Club: Embossed Evergreen and July Stamp Club: Fishy Friends.

52 Christmas Card Throw Down Challenge #7

A fellow stamper suggested I check out this blog, and I am so glad I did! This week's challenge is a color challenge to use Black, White and a splash of Blue. Here is what I came up with.  I hope you can see the Shimmer Mist. It really makes it look like winter!

I used all Stampin' Up materials to make the card. The card base is Pool Party embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots. The rest of the card is Basic Black and Whisper White card stock. The stamp sets are Lovely as a Tree and Wandering Words. I used Staz On Jet Black ink and spritzed with Vanilla Shimmer Mist.

Paper Players Wordsmith Challenge

This week's challenge on The Paper Players blog is Wordsmith. I decided to continue with my Christmas in July theme, and make mine a Christmas card. Last year, I fell in love with The Sounding Joy stamp set (Stampin' Up), so that is what I used. I used the Joy sentiment to make a watermark on the Not Quite Navy card base, and then the Joy to the World star for the main message. As always, I love the look when something is embossed with Stampin' Up Pewter Embossing Powder.

Paper Players July Color Challenge

This week's challenge on Paper Players was to make a card using Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Lucky Limeade. All of these are fun, summer colors! Here is what I came up with.

I am so enjoying my July off because I get time to make my cards. Happy Stampin'!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #42

I love playing along with the layout sketches. It challenges me to think of color combinations and what materials I will use. I really wanted to use one of our new In Colors, Primrose Petals. I love the Just Believe stamp set, and paired well with the Comfort Cafe designer paper.

Dynamic Duos Challenge #10

I am new to Dynamic Duos, and I got excited when I saw the color challenge because I like Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive together so much. I decided to make one of my favorite cards, a flip card, using the two colors. The pictures below show the outside of the card and the inside. If you have not already tried using the framelits (Stampin' Up) to make a flip, you must. They are so great because you can layer them and use the coordinating stamp sets.

Here is what I used to make the card in case you want to try it.  All materials are Stampin' Up.
